Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Gravensteen exceeded all my expectations in Canterbury. The lovely location, with its proximity to the castle, provided a picturesque backdrop for my visit. The comfortable bed ensured a restful night's sleep, while the clean and tidy room, complete with a charming balcony offering a peaceful retreat with garden furniture, was an unexpected delight. Despite the staff being somewhat stretched, their friendliness and dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay did not go unnoticed. The highlight for me was the exceptional breakfast spread, offering a varied selection that catered to all tastes, though I would suggest adding more raw fruit options. The spacious room, a rarity in European hotels, coupled with the powerful shower, created a luxurious experience. Gravensteen's atmosphere evoked a sense of nostalgia, transporting me to a simpler time. The hotel's attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction truly set it apart. I highly recommend Gravensteen to anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable stay in Canterbury.
